  8.   A Crow half dead with thirst, came upon a Pitcher which had
  9.   once been full of water; but when the Crow put its beak into
  10.   the mouth of the Pitcher he found that only very little water
  11.   was left in it, and that he could not reach far enough down
  12.   to get at it.  He tried, and he tried, but at last had to give
  13.   up in despair. Then a thought came to him, and he took a stone
  14.   and dropped it into the Pitcher.
  15.   Then he took another stone and dropped that into the pitcher.
  16.   Then he took another stone and dropped that into the pitcher.
  17.   Then he took another stone and dropped that into the pitcher.
  18.   Then he took another stone and dropped that into the pitcher.
  19.   Then he took another stone and dropped that into the pitcher.
  20.   At last, at last, he saw the water mount up near him, and after
  21.   casting in a few more pebbles he was able to quench his thirst
  22.   and save his life.
